Timber-roofed basilica built on the foundations of an early Christian church of the 5th-6th century. A characteristic of the church is the built screen with the incorporated early Christian sculptures as well as the twin shrine. The murals are the work of the disciples of G. Markou, dating from the 18th century. The church of Panagia Mesosporitissa (photo) is a domed cross-shaped church dating back to the 11th-12th centuries. It celebrates on the Day of the Entrance of the Theotokos in the Temple, on 21st November, the month of sowing, hence its name. The churches is under the jurisdiction of the Holy Metropolis of Mesogaia and Lavreotiki.
